In 2025, Alfa-Bank plans to introduce an updated method for its customers to pay using the NFC chip on iPhone. Currently, specialists are testing this function.
This technology allows payment with a "Mir" payment system card.
Smartphones have an NFC chip that allows contactless payments. On Android-based devices, access to NFC is open, so they can be paid for without any restrictions. However, in iPhones, as was believed until recently, this chip was blocked for use in Russia.
Our developers were the first in the country to gain access to the iPhone's NFC chip. Legally — without hacking. They came up with a way to pay simply and conveniently: like Apple Pay — only from Alfa-Bank.
Earlier, T-Bank announced the development of an alternative to the popular Apple Pay service. According to Sergey Khromov, vice president of the company, iPhone owners will soon be able to use a new service for contactless payments.
