Up to 30% of the new fighter's fuselage is made of composite materials

The new Russian generation "4++" MiG-35 fighter differs from the MiG-29, on the basis of which it was created. This was announced by test pilot of the Mikoyan Design Bureau Dmitry Selivanov.

According to him, the aircraft has a new airborne radar station, sighting and navigation system, and some fragments of cabin equipment.

Director of the Mikoyan Design Bureau Alexey Matveev noted that the MiG-35 has a larger wing area. The engineers increased the number of suspension points on the wing from six to eight, installed a new engine with increased thrust and a new optical-location station.

When developing the MiG-35 fighter, the designers paid special attention to improving operational characteristics. Now composite materials make up to 30% of the fuselage covering.

MiG-29 is a Soviet and Russian fourth-generation fighter. It is designed to destroy air targets, mainly within the radar control field, as well as to engage ground targets using unguided weapons in conditions of visual visibility.
