В Приморье начнётся подъём частей затонувшего миноносца 1904 года

The "Vostok" Underwater Search Club plans to preserve historical artifacts before the ship's remains disappear under a layer of silt

The raising of parts of a destroyer that sank in 1904 is scheduled to begin in Primorye. Here are the details of what is happening.

Destroyer No. 208 was manufactured in 1899 at the wharves of the "New Admiralty", now known as the USC "Admiralty Shipyards" plant.

The ship was one of 25 Pernov-class destroyers built for the Russian Imperial Navy. On July 4, 1904, it struck a mine in the area of Skryplev Island in the waters of Primorye.

The "Vostok" underwater search club plans to raise the ship from the bottom. This was announced by Alexey Kondratyuk, head of the underwater research section of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society. According to him, the remains of the vessel are rapidly deteriorating and sinking into silt. In addition, the condition of the ship is affected by its location in an active shipping area.

To preserve this important page of history, it was decided to raise the anchors and portholes for subsequent transfer to the museum
