Новый истребитель МиГ-41: станет первым в мире самолетом шестого поколения

Designed to replace the MiG-31 interceptor

The MiG-41 interceptor fighter being developed in Russia will become Russia's first sixth-generation combat aircraft. The work is being carried out as part of the project of a promising long-range interception aviation complex (PAK DP).

Fighter regiments are designed to cover strategically important facilities and cover groups of armed forces from enemy aircraft attacks, as well as counter aerospace attacks.

The MiG-41 is being developed to replace the MiG-31 supersonic interceptor, which was adopted back in 1981. According to data from open sources, the aircraft's design is at the stage of development work.

It is known that the aircraft will be able to accelerate to a speed of 4.3 Mach. The maximum speed of the MiG-31 is 2.8 Mach, which makes it one of the fastest aircraft in the world. Also, the design of the MiG-41 is supposed to create an unmanned version of the aircraft and use stealth technology.

The signs of a sixth-generation aircraft are the ability to develop hypersonic speed (more than 4 Mach), optional piloting and low radar signature.

Earlier www1.ru reported that an expert found a radical solution to the problem of the shortage of AWACS aircraft for the Russian Aerospace Forces, he proposed reviving the Yak-44.
