Российские тягачи «Валдай 45» превращают в цементовозы из-за нехватки вагонов

CEMROS announced that it is increasing cement transportation by road due to problems with its rail transportation

STT Group announced the sale of a large batch of "Valdai 45" tractors to CEMROS. They will be operated with Russian Bonum semi-trailers as cement trucks in 2025.

CEMROS explained the reason for this purchase. The fact is that the company is forced to move away from railway transportation: due to problems in the infrastructure and the low availability of wagons for cement, CEMROS's railway cement supplies throughout Russia have become regularly delayed.

We are observing a significant decrease in the share of cement transportation by rail - since 2007 it has decreased by 33 percentage points and now amounts to only 39%. Therefore, we see the need to develop a vehicle fleet to ensure stable supplies. At the same time, the volume of road transportation with the involvement of transport partners will remain at the same level, which allows CEMROS to flexibly manage cement delivery.
Denis Nazarov, Director of Procurement and Logistics at CEMROS

He also noted that CEMROS will soon have environmentally friendly vehicles running on liquefied natural gas for the first time, which is in line with the company's strategy to reduce its carbon footprint.

Since the summer of 2024, CEMROS has already purchased 55 units of "Valdai 45". It is not specified how many trucks will be delivered this time.

"Valdai 45"

"Valdai 45" is a relatively new truck from the Nizhny Novgorod Trucks company, assembled at the GAZ facilities, it appeared on the Russian market in December 2023. The tractor is capable of working both with semi-trailers and as part of a road train with a gross weight of up to 45 tons.

The base of the "Valdai 45" is the Chinese Foton EST1846. Under the hood is a Cummins ISG12 turbodiesel engine with a capacity of 470 hp and a 12-speed ZF TraXon robotic gearbox, the tractor consumes 840 liters per almost 3000 km. The manufacturer is ready to gradually replace these and other foreign components in the future.

The truck is equipped with an autonomous heater, cabin thermal insulation, heated fuel intake and fuel line, and all-season tires. It also has resistance to low temperatures, corrosion and slippery roads.
