Moscow registry offices, in collaboration with Moskvarium at VDNKh, will organize a unique underwater wedding ceremony, which will take place on December 16. This will be the first underwater ceremony in the history of the capital, held in the main aquarium of Europe's largest oceanarium. To participate in this unusual event, couples need to send their story of how they met and provide a diver's certificate by November 14.
The event is timed to coincide with the Day of Registry Office Workers and is part of the Moscow Mayor's project "New Addresses of Happiness," in which citizens can get married in the most unusual places in the city. Previously, ceremonies have been held in such non-standard locations as cable car cabins, in a moving train on the Big Circle Line, at the Mayakovskaya metro station, at a football match, and on a theater stage.
For the winning couple, who will be chosen based on their story of how they met, the organizers will prepare a photo session in the underwater part of Moskvarium, which is home to more than 200 species of marine life, including sand sharks, moray eels, rays, and giant grouper.
