Open-air Museum: Historical Military Equipment Installed on Red Square

Visitors can see and examine old airplanes, tanks, and trams up close

An exhibition dedicated to the parade of November 7, 1941, has opened on Red Square. From 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily until November 10, residents and visitors of the capital have the opportunity to learn about the history of aviation, armored vehicles, and urban transport. Screens have been installed throughout the area, broadcasting historical films and a reconstructed parade from 1941.

According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, five exhibitions dedicated to the history of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War will be organized on the square, spanning 25,000 square meters. Three hundred actors will present scenes from the life of Moscow in the 1940s to the audience, and volunteers will help conduct tours.

A reconstructed parade from 1941 will be shown on the big screen, and in the installation of the "Khudozhestvenny" cinema, which continued to operate during the war years, guests will be able to watch historical films.

Recreated houses that were built in 1941 will be equipped with multimedia screens imitating windows and mini-scenes. This will allow conveying the atmosphere of those times and telling and showing the stories of people and events in detail.

The open-air museum can be visited for free.

Earlier, the last Russian An-22 "Antei" was sent to the museum of military equipment. It was developed in the design bureau of Oleg Antonov. This aircraft is designed to transport heavy and oversized military equipment and personnel over long distances. It can deliver cargo both by parachute and by landing.
