AvtoVAZ continues the production of LADA Iskra, but the start of mass production may be postponed to April 2025. Previously, the car was scheduled to start production in early 2025.
Currently, the plant produces pre-production "project vehicles", assembling three cars per day, which amounts to nine cars per week, with days off on other days.
Changes have been implemented in the production process: the use of self-tapping screws has been minimized, and components are mainly attached with plastic clips, brackets, and latches.
Insiders note that the full assembly pace of LADA Iskra is likely to begin in April 2025, as the transfer of Granta Sedan production to another assembly line is also planned for this time, which will affect the production schedule.
Thus, if the launch of mass production of LADA Iskra is delayed, this will inevitably affect the timing of the start of car sales. Previously discussed dates—early 2025 or the first quarter—now look less realistic, considering a possible postponement to the second quarter.
