The "Hermes" communication systems, which help Russian drones increase the range of tasks, have been produced at the Hermes Design Bureau, a subsidiary of the Kaisant Research and Production Association, since the beginning of 2024. Their first samples were delivered to the troops in April. Now the Russian military already has hundreds of sets of these jam-resistant communication systems, and, as the official representative of the Hermes Design Bureau told TASS news agency, "soldiers highly appreciate the effectiveness of the products".
Often, the operability of any flight equipment depends on the type of jammers that are in this direction. "Hermes" is designed to ensure that the equipment flies regardless of the zone of influence of electronic warfare equipment. Whether there is electronic warfare or not, "Hermes" still flies. This is due to the fact that we shift in frequencies and work on the principle that electronic warfare does not reach us at all. The product has a large width of operating frequencies. The frequency now starts from 150 MHz and ends at 960 MHz. In this range, we can safely fly regardless of the impact of enemy electronic warfare.
According to the specialist, for each of the areas of application, the communication systems select their own operating frequency range, which helps to increase the operating range of FPV drones. So, in particular, in the Kursk region, drones with "Hermes" can break through to a range of up to 100 km.
It is worth noting that "Hermes" is not limited to working in tandem with FPV drones. This communication system, according to the developers, is also freely installed on unmanned carts and unmanned boats.
