UAV Development and Assembly Center to Appear in St. Petersburg

3 Billion Rubles to be Allocated for Project Implementation

A UAV development and assembly center in the «Saint Petersburg» special economic zone will receive funding of 3 billion rubles, according to the press service of the SEZ.

The creation of a center with an area of about 18,600 sq. m will require about 3 billion rubles of investment.

It will be located at the site in Shushary. The project is expected to be implemented in 2026.

In 2024, a regional center for the production of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) was opened on the basis of the Technopark of St. Petersburg. There are 42 residents working here who develop drones of various types, engines and software.

In total, more than 20 companies are engaged in the production of UAVs in the Northern capital, including GC «Geoscan» and «Navigator».
