Kazan Airport dispatchers serviced over 500 aircraft during the BRICS summit from October 22 to 24. Employees of the Regional Center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System (ES OrVD) and the Kazan Air Traffic Management Center (OVVD) worked very intensively, the Rosaviatsiya press service reported.
During this period, they serviced 41 flights with top officials, 67 flights with delegations on board, and over 18 flights related to ensuring the summit's operation.
The airport received and dispatched approximately 119 aircraft per day, which is 37% more than on ordinary days. According to the head of Rosaviatsiya, Kazan organized a summit of such a high level for the first time.
To reach the capital of the republic, most of the event participants flew by planes from various corners of the world. The dispatchers coped with the tasks assigned.
