Infocom-Avia (part of Rostec) has signed an agreement with the S7 airline to provide a Russian air-to-ground data transmission system ACARS. It allows real-time transmission of data on the condition of the aircraft and its components in flight, and exchange of operational plans, weather data and other necessary information with the aircraft.
The availability of this information will allow aircraft to save jet fuel and adjust the trajectory of the aircraft. The information received from the aircraft also makes it possible to organize its prompt maintenance immediately after landing.
As part of the import substitution efforts, our company, Azimuth, has developed the necessary equipment. To date, all aircraft of the S7 airline are connected to the domestic network.
Until March 2022, ACARS for Russian and foreign airlines in our country was provided by foreign providers, but then the service became unavailable to Russian carriers. This resulted in increased economic losses for airlines and reduced efficiency in the use of the aircraft fleet.
