In the CyberMed laboratory of medical instrument engineering at Tomsk State University (TSU), a functional model of a robotic system with a hand exoskeletal prosthesis for patient rehabilitation has been developed. This was reported by the university's press service.
The development is a software and hardware complex consisting of two parts. It allows repeating movements in "avatar" mode. This makes it possible to restore damaged neural connections in the brain after stroke and injuries.
The first part is a copying device that collects information about the movement of a healthy limb of the patient or repeats the movements of a rehabilitation doctor working with the patient. The second part is a robotic hand exoskeletal prosthesis.
The complex operates on the basis of special software. It allows you to use the device and select suitable programs for rehabilitation at home.
The system has been successfully tested at the functional model stage. The developers plan to find partners for the future development of the project.
Earlier www1.ru reported that "Motorica" is expanding production and planning an IPO.
