The National University of Science and Technology "MISIS" has developed the first full-format solar battery in the country based on hybrid perovskites (flexible and lightweight semiconductor materials that absorb light and convert it into other forms of energy). This was reported by the university's press service.
The development can be used in the difficult climatic conditions of the Arctic and the Far North. The new battery consists of 16 modules made from synthetic analogues of the mineral perovskite. It is capable of efficiently converting solar energy into electricity in low light conditions.
The full-format battery based on hybrid perovskites is made exclusively from domestic materials, has proven its effectiveness in diffused light conditions, and is fully ready for introduction into production.
A special feature of the development is its low cost and high performance. The solar battery generates about 7 watts of energy at a voltage of 48 volts. Its manufacturing cycle takes only 8-10 hours. This opens up great prospects for mass production.
It is expected that in three years, Russian enterprises will be able to start pilot production of such batteries. They are planned to be used for private homes and industrial facilities.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that anti-reflective coatings for solar batteries were created in Novosibirsk.
