The South Ural State University (SUSU), in collaboration with specialists from "TEK-Spetsmash," has developed a new tunneling car for removing rock to the surface during the construction of underground tunnels. This was reported by the university's press service.
The new car is equipped with a mechanical-pneumatic braking system. This allows it to be held on inclined rails even when fully loaded.
The car also has a tilting body, which allows it to be automatically unloaded without human intervention. The body structure is removable. This makes it possible to use the platform for various attachments.
The development surpasses foreign analogues in terms of technical characteristics. Mass production of the cars is planned to be launched at the "TEK-Spetsmash" enterprise.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a pilot car for the Slavyanka tram line was presented in Russia.
