From December 1, 2024, an experiment on photo and fingerprint identification of foreign citizens entering the country will be launched at the capital's airports, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Gorovoy.
As Gorovoy explained, this is still an experiment, but after its testing, it may be scaled to all border crossings. This initiative will be considered by members of the Cabinet and FSB employees.
Moscow was chosen for the experiment as a center of attraction for foreign citizens. Similar control will appear at the Mashtakovo automobile checkpoint (the border of the Russian Federation with Kazakhstan) in the Orenburg region.
