The Government of the Sverdlovsk Region announced the launch of three large solar power plants in the Artinsky urban district with a capacity of 37.9 MW and a new 110 kV "Chekmash" substation for power output. These are the first large solar generation facilities in the Sverdlovsk Region and the Ural Federal District.
The Hevel Group of Companies invested in them, with a total investment in the project of more than 2.7 billion rubles. All the equipment used is entirely domestic.
The total area of the power plants is about 90 hectares; for comparison, the same area is occupied by 126 football fields. The stations are equipped with over 116 thousand heterostructural solar modules of Russian production (Hevel plant), 6 inverter stations, and over 350 km of cable lines.
Heterostructural solar modules combine the advantages of thin-film and crystalline technologies: they are characterized by high efficiency of electricity generation in both clear and cloudy weather, as well as in extreme temperatures (from -40 °С to +85 °С), and have a low temperature coefficient.
It is noted that the forecast electricity generation of solar power plants will be about 40 million kWh per year.
Earlier, a new research solar power plant appeared in Yekaterinburg. It was installed on the facade of the 12-story building of the Ural Federal University (UrFU).
