Власти Китая не хотят делиться технологиями производства электромобилей

They strongly urge the country's auto corporations not to allow the export of technologies to other countries

The Association of Russian Automobile Dealers (ROAD) has appealed to the Ministry of Industry and Trade with a letter asking the authorities to oblige foreign automakers to share technologies when localizing car production in Russia. The Chinese authorities do not agree with this approach, and they have strongly demanded that automakers from China not allow the export of technologies outside of China.

Bloomberg journalists learned about the demands of Chinese officials from the Ministry of Commerce. According to them, in July, representatives of 12 automobile companies were gathered for a business meeting. The issues of risks when investing in production outside of China were discussed.

It is alleged that officials recommended not to localize production in India and Turkey. The risks of investing in Thailand and the European Union were pointed out. Russia was also mentioned at the meeting.

The following strategy of the Chinese authorities is emerging: to open screwdriver assembly of cars in other countries, sending car assembly kits to factories, and limiting local assembly as much as possible.

It should be reminded that of all the Chinese brands presented in Russia, only Great Wall has full-fledged production. The full-cycle plant operates in the Tula region. Among the Russian factories assembling Chinese cars under their own brands, Sollers and Moskvich have local production.
