The Russian light helicopter "Ansat" has received the first domestic VK-650V engines developed and manufactured by the St. Petersburg enterprise UEC-Klimov. This was reported by the United Engine Corporation (UEC).
Currently, the helicopter with Russian engines is being prepared for a series of tests. "Ansats" are actively used for passenger transportation and ambulance aviation.
The UEC emphasized that the "Ansat" will also receive an anti-icing system. The designers will expand its capabilities and adapt the helicopter to work in the conditions of the Far North.
VK-650V is the first domestic engine for light helicopters Ka-226T and "Ansat". It is also used in other promising domestic developments, for example, in a hybrid power plant (HPP), which will be used for drones and air taxis.
Earlier, the Ansat helicopter was shown at the Army-2024 forum. It was equipped with a medical module for transporting victims and patients.
