The commercial director of the "Moskvich" plant, Maxim Zlatokrylets, surprised the public by announcing that a new domestic car will roll off the company's assembly line in 2026.
We are talking about a car that will have an internal combustion engine, not an electric motor. The top manager did not provide any details. It is unclear how Russian this car will be, because the "Moskvich" plant produces Chinese JAC cars, which, although considered domestic, cannot be called a Russian development.
Note that in June, the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin stated that the plant is preparing its own platform. He added that the company has every opportunity to produce "its own car at all." The official did not explain what this means.
