On the night of August 18, Telegram users in Russia faced technical problems, including an "endless connection."
The main complaints came from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, and other cities. Data on failures were recorded on platforms such as Сбой.рф, «Мониторинг сбоев», Downradar, and DownDetector. According to the services, problems began to arise around midnight Moscow time. About 70% of complaints came from users in Moscow.
On a global scale, isolated cases of problems were recorded, in particular in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the USA, and France.
The Center for Monitoring and Management of the Public Communication Network (TsMU SSOP) also confirmed the existence of problems with Telegram in Russia at night.
