Prior to this, a source close to the Russian Navy stated that the task for the fall is to carry out the physical launch of two reactors and move away from the pier. At the same time, according to him, the cruiser's factory sea trials are scheduled for the summer of 2025, and then state trials will begin.

The General Director of "Sevmash", Mikhail Budnichenko, called "Admiral Nakhimov" a unique vessel in terms of technical equipment. It has realized the full potential of the project project 1144.2M "Orlan". The cruiser will be able to perform tasks in any part of the World Ocean and will serve for at least 30 years after the repair.

"Admiral Nakhimov" has been under repair since 1999. The main result of the cruiser's modernization is the strengthening of its strike power. It is expected that it will carry Kalibr-NK cruise missiles or Onyx missiles, as well as hypersonic Zircon missiles.
