Russian military personnel have become acquainted with the specifics of using 73-mm low-impulse towed 2A28 "Grom" guns. The modules were taken from the turrets of BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles that were disabled at the front or removed from storage, according to military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
The presented footage shows that the guns are equipped with a carriage and chassis, as well as beds of appropriate length with coulters. The advantage of this product is its low weight, which ensures the possibility of towing the "Grom" with ATVs or minivans.
The ammunition of the "Grom" gun is represented by cumulative PG-17VS/1 or fragmentation OG-15VS/1 rocket-propelled grenades. The former have an initial velocity of about 290 m/s and a range of up to 5300-5700 m when firing from closed positions and the gun's elevation angle is 45 degrees.
PG-17VS/1 anti-tank grenades with monoblock HEAT warheads have an initial velocity of up to 655 m/s, thanks to which the firing range along flat trajectories can exceed 5500 m with armor penetration of 400 mm.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces deployed a robot on the front line. It is used to deliver food and ammunition.
