Calculations of enemy man-portable air defense systems began training on one of the most dangerous and effective MANPADS in global practice — the British Starstreak.
The semi-automatic laser beam guidance system provides the Starstreak with the highest resistance to any type of optoelectronic interference, including IR traps. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that a similar system is used on the Tula ATGM Whirlwind-1 and British multi-purpose missiles LMM Martlet.
The bicaliber two-stage Starstreak SAM interceptors have a maximum speed after the solid propellant rocket motor charge burns out. After burnout, the squib ejects 3 dart-shaped kinetic interceptors equipped with individual armor-piercing high-explosive warheads, aerodynamic rudders and laser radiation photodetectors in the tail sections.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the serial production of unique strike FPV drones MiS-35 has begun in Russia. The heavy drone can drop ammunition and conduct reconnaissance.
