The crews of the Raptor patrol boats of the Black Sea Fleet (of the Russian Federation) practiced destroying unmanned boats of a mock enemy, as well as countering underwater saboteurs. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The defense department added that the boat crews searched for small-sized targets using their own means and with the support of naval aviation. Upon detection of unmanned boats, they opened fire on them from Urava-Kord artillery modules and small arms.
The targets were destroyed at a distance of about 10 km from the shore, with fire being conducted at a distance of up to 2,000 m from the Raptor boats. Special forces from the underwater sabotage forces unit carried out underwater descents to inspect the mooring places of ships and, if mines were found, to eliminate them, the press service summarized.
Features of the Raptor boat:
- speed — up to 50 knots
- Br4 class armor panel protection
- bulletproof glass portholes
- crew — 3 people
- armament: 14.5 mm combat remotely controlled module and 2 7.62-mm 6P41 Pecheneg machine guns.
