Combat torpedoes are the most effective weapon needed to destroy enemy submarines and surface flotillas. This is a universal tool, the main advantage of which is the probability of destroying the target being attacked.
Modern torpedoes, such as the electric remote-controlled homing TE-2, are distinguished by combat effectiveness, simple design, reliability and have a wide potential for modernization.
The torpedo can be used for its intended purpose in areas of the World Ocean with temperatures from 0 to +25 degrees Celsius, as well as a salinity of sea water of 30-35 ppm.
The TE-2 is distinguished by the absence of a non-contact acoustic fuse, the presence of a three-beam anti-ship homing system and an active non-contact electromagnetic fuse that is triggered when the torpedo passes near an enemy submarine (SS) and surface ship (SC).
The TE-2 torpedo is being developed in three modifications: TE-2-01 with mechanical data input, TE-2-02 with electrical data input, and TE-2-03 with electrical data input via a control and launch panel.
Tactical and technical characteristics of the TE-2 torpedo:
- Caliber — 534.4 mm
Length:
- combat torpedo with a boat control cable reel (for SS) — 8300 mm
- combat torpedo without a control cable reel (for SS and SC) — 7900 mm
Mass:
- combat torpedo with CU reel — no more than 2450 kg
- combat torpedo without CU reel — no more than 2400 kg
Average speed at full travel distance with a water salinity of 35 ppm and a water temperature of 15 °C:
- in the first mode — 45 ± 2 knots
- in the second mode — 32 ± 3 knots
Range:
- in the first mode — 15000 m
- in the second mode — 25000 m
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces created a miniature wheeled drone to blow up enemy fortified areas. The platform is capable of delivering a TM-62 mine to the enemy's dugout and blowing it up.
