The authorities of Russia and India are discussing the construction of 6 more high-capacity NPP units at a new site, as well as small-capacity nuclear power plants. This became known following the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which took place in Moscow the day before.
The press service of Rosatom State Corporation explained that new areas of cooperation between the two countries are being discussed, including in the field of closing the nuclear fuel cycle.
We are talking about the construction in India of six more high-capacity units of Russian design at a new site and small nuclear power plants (SNPP) of Russian design.
India operates the Kudankulam NPP, which is a flagship project of Russian-Indian energy cooperation. The first two power units were launched in 2013-2016, and now Rosatom State Corporation is building four more power units.
