Огневой налет, доставка самолетом: российская новейшая САУ «Мальва» засветилась в Сети

The serial combat version differs slightly from what was shown before

The first photos and videos of the field work of Russia's latest self-propelled artillery gun (SPG) "Malva" have appeared online.

This first wheeled SPG in Russian history was developed at the Burevestnik Central Research Institute in Nizhny Novgorod. The pilot batch of these new 152-mm self-propelled artillery guns was received by the Ministry of Defense in October 2023.

«Pervyi Technicheskiy» has already told readers about the characteristics of "Malva". It is very maneuverable, can quickly leave its position before return fire, be transported by plane to the desired point, and conduct an attack, capable of covering the enemy with high-explosive fragmentation shells at a range of over 24 km.

The chassis for the 32-ton "Malva" is the four-axle all-terrain vehicle BAZ-6610-027 "Voschina", and the "heart" is the YaMZ-8424.10 engine with a power of 470 hp. It is operated by a crew of five.

However, as "RG" notes, the final military version, spotted online, differs from the first models that were shown to the public.

2S43 "Malva" has:

  • an automated fire control system;
  • a system for simultaneous fire raid, in which several sequentially fired munitions of different types are aimed at one target;
  • a system for countering high-precision weapons of the enemy. For example, if necessary, the system on the roof can launch grenades, creating aerosol curtains.

It is also noted that the serial version does not have an ejector for removing powder gases on the barrel of the 152-mm gun.
