At the recent Victory Parade on Red Square, the Russian S-400 Triumph SAM system was spotted among the participants, which is considered the best anti-aircraft missile system in the world.
Rosoboronexport notes that the complex "has undeniable advantages over any competitors" and "in terms of basic characteristics, the S-400 surpasses its analogues by two to three times." The S-400 Triumph SAM system has already "fully proven the characteristics declared by the manufacturer and has shown the ability to work in the most difficult conditions."
For the first time, mobile and survivable "Triumphs" appeared at the Victory Parade in 2016. Their 48N6E3 (48N6E2), 40N6E, 9M96E2 guided anti-aircraft missiles are designed to destroy all types of aerodynamic targets and ballistic missiles with a launch range of up to 3000 – 3500 km. The missiles hit all enemy air threats from the air that fly at speeds up to 4800 m/s. These are all known modern means of destruction plus promising ones that are only being developed around the world.
This includes:
- jamming aircraft;
- radar patrol and guidance aircraft;
- reconnaissance aircraft, including those that are part of reconnaissance and strike complexes;
- strategic aircraft carriers of air-launched missiles;
- tactical, operational-tactical ballistic missiles and medium-range ballistic missiles;
- other means of air attack in conditions of intense radio countermeasures.
The range of destruction of aerodynamic targets by the complex is a maximum of 380 km, ballistic – 60 km, the altitude of destruction is 30 km and 25 km, respectively.
One division of the complex can simultaneously hit up to ten targets with its twenty missiles. If the SAM system enters the attack in full force, then at the same time it can aim 160 missiles at 80 different targets in terms of speed, trajectory and size: from aircraft to missiles.
