Order volume exceeds 100 million rubles

The KMZ military-industrial holding (Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant) has signed contracts worth over 100 million rubles with private Russian companies for the reverse engineering (component analysis, technical documentation preparation, and production) of components from manufacturers that have left the market, according to Mikhail Danilenko, Managing Director of the holding.

Which components will KMZ replace through import substitution:

  • Wärtsilä Oyj Abp
  • MAN
  • Liebherr
  • Cummins

According to Danilenko, the reverse engineering process utilizes the latest technologies, including 3D scanning, 3D printing of sand molds for casting cores to produce prototypes, and spectral analysis.

The KMZ holding produces components for products across all segments of the defense industry, including submarine parts and long-range communication equipment. Its subsidiaries also manufacture boats for law enforcement agencies and test diesel engines.
