В помощь незрячим: в России создали робота-поводыря

The robot will help navigate space, read inscriptions on product packaging, and help choose products

Specialists from the Nevinnomyssk Technological Institute have presented a new, already implemented project. A robot guide dog with an integrated neural network was created to help people with visual impairments.

The robot's design is based on a unified mobile platform 1 meter high, equipped with four wheels. Several cameras allow the device to navigate the terrain, and a built-in speaker allows it to communicate with humans. A special "leash" is provided for walking with the robot.

Thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence into the system, the guide will help build short routes, avoid obstacles, recognize signs on roads, and read information on product packaging. Control is carried out using a small built-in PC.

For example, you can ask the robot to read information from the product packaging, see the date when it was produced, and choose the freshest one.

The first robot model has been successfully assembled and tested. It is expected that customers will be government services and institutions, as well as other non-profit organizations working with people with visual impairments.

The production of the experimental model cost 70 thousand rubles. For further release, it is planned to attract investors to the project and raise 1 million rubles.

It is worth noting that this year, Russian developers created a robot for delivering ammunition in combat conditions.
