Российский бронеавтомобиль «Спартак» тестирует новую защиту от дронов и осколков

A model with all-round protection has appeared online

The Russian armored car AMN-590951 "Spartak" is experimenting with protection against kamikaze drones. A photo of an armored car completely surrounded by a welded total circular anti-drone protection has appeared online. It does not prevent the performance of its combat tasks.

In the photo, you can also see reinforcement in the form of steel shields against bullets and shrapnel in the wheel area. It is also included in the new protection kit.

The "Spartak" family of armored vehicles is one of the relatively recent developments of the "defense industry", first shown by the "Military Industrial Company" in 2022. It is based on the redesigned "VPK-Ural" armored car from the same manufacturer, from which it inherited key parameters. All its components and parts are of domestic production.

The characteristics of one of the versions, the ten-seater "Spartak" AMN-590951, which was spotted with anti-drone framing, make it quite resistant to loads during the performance of tasks: transporting personnel and military cargo under protection, installing weapons systems and special equipment, towing trailer systems. These are:

  •  turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 312 hp and a mechanical 5-speed gearbox, there is also a version with an automatic transmission;
  • frameless design with a load-bearing body;
  • protection of the front and side parts from armor-piercing incendiary bullets;
  • protection of the bottom from the detonation of explosive devices under the wheel up to 6 kg in TNT equivalent;
  • equipped with a fully rotating armored turret with a 12.7 mm KORD machine gun, it is possible to equip it with other weapons;
  • speed up to 100 km/h;
  • range — 1000 km;
  • high ability to modernize.

It is known that the "Spartak" in a slightly different version of the MBA-590955-15 was recently exhibited at the World Defense Show 2024 in Riyadh.
