Aircraft of the Ministry of Defense made scheduled flights over neutral waters

Tu-22M3 and MiG-31 aircraft, equipped with the "Kinzhal" aviation complex, successfully completed scheduled flights over the Baltic and Caspian Seas. This event was held as part of the exercises of the Aerospace Forces, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Tuesday.

During the flight, Tu-22M3 long-range bombers and MiG-31 fighters equipped with the "Kinzhal" complex took part. It is also reported that the crews of the MiG-31 aircraft practiced the procedure of refueling in the air.

It is important to note that during the flight, fighter escort was provided by the crews of Su-30SM and Su-35S aircraft of the Aerospace Forces. It is also noted that at various stages of the route over the seas, Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft were accompanied by fighters of foreign states.

The commander of long-range aviation, Lieutenant General Sergei Kobylash, stressed that all flights were carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.

As a reminder, in December 2023, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) announced the completion of the 2023 state defense order program for the repair and modernization of MiG-31 high-altitude interceptor fighters for the Russian Ministry of Defense.
