The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has included foreign brands in the list of government purchases for officials. The list now includes 35 models from 12 brands.
The list includes the Chinese brand with Italian roots SWM (models G05 Pro and G01). The design of the models is still being developed in Italy.
Officials will also be able to drive Chinese BAIC cars (models U5 Plus, X35, X55, BJ40 Plus, X7). This brand has already taken root in Russia and has gained fans.
In addition, one Citroën model, the C5 Aircross, is available for government procurement. Its production has been established at the Stellantis plant in the Kaluga region.
The list also includes:
- «Соллерс» (ST6)
- «Амберавто» (А5)
The ministry explained that the list includes cars with a Russian VIN number, which are assembled in the Russian Federation as part of investment contracts for the localization of products.
It was previously reported that Aurus cars will be used by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and his deputies, as well as the leaders of the factions of the lower house of the Russian parliament.
Www1.ru wrote that Avtotor presented an electric car «Амберавто» А5 costing 3.4 million rubles, and FSUE NAMI, which produces Aurus, fell under Western sanctions.
