Specialists at the Vostochny Cosmodrome have assembled the “package” of the “Angara-A5” rocket, which is scheduled to launch in the first ten days of April. This will be the first launch of a heavy launch vehicle from this cosmodrome in its history.
According to Roscosmos, the assembly was carried out on a revolver-type stand, which worked as intended back in October 2023 when docking the side blocks of the Angara-NZH electric refueling model to the central one. Now it has worked with a real rocket.
Ahead is the transfer of the assembled “package” to the workplace for docking with the third stage and further checks and operations before launch.
Work is also underway on the launch complex for the “Angara-A5”. It has been put into the state of “Readiness to work with RKN”, and the second stage tests will also be carried out on its territory.
Flight tests of the Russian heavy rockets “Angara-A5” are planned to be completed this year. In the future, according to the management of Roscosmos, Russia will produce about eight “Angara-A5” rockets per year “in a year or two”.
