Rosaviatsiya approved a new airframe for SJ-100, tailored for import substitution

The first production models of the modified aircraft are already being assembled in the workshops

Rosaviatsiya has approved a change to the airframe of the SJ-100 aircraft from PJSC Yakovlev. It was modified not only for Russian systems and components, which are being actively import-substituted, but also for easier operation and maintenance of the aircraft.

To develop the new design, specialists from the design bureau of the "Regional Aircraft" branch of PJSC Yakovlev, together with employees of scientific institutes, processed the results of more than 22,000 laboratory "flights". They were carried out on a resource aircraft at TsAGI, on a static glider at SibNIA, and in other ways
The approval of this change allows us to switch to the production of SJ-100 using serial design documentation, in order to transfer the first import-substituted aircraft into operation in 2024, in accordance with the instructions of the Government of the Russian Federation. The next important step in certification will be the approval of import-substituted systems and the PD-8 main power plant as part of the aircraft. Taking into account the geography of our cooperation, we are working with our suppliers in this direction almost around the clock.
Deputy General Director of UAC for Civil Aviation, General Director of PJSC Yakovlev Andrey Boginsky

The first production models of the new modified SJ-100 are already being assembled in the workshops of the Production Center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
