Specialists of the Neptune Research Institute, which is part of Ruselectronics, have developed a radio frequency amplifier, an antenna-feeder device (part of a radio-electronic product - note by www1.ru editors) for NAVDAT - a digital broadband data transmission network from shore to ships.
According to a Rostec press release, prototypes have already passed internal tests. It is noted that the existing systems have a speed of 50 bits/s and do not meet modern data transmission requirements. The equipment was developed by order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
In 2024, a region will be determined for testing the amplifier and antenna-feeder device. It is expected that the development of the Neptune Research Institute will be used, among other things, for searching for people at sea, transmitting navigational warnings and meteorological data.
Earlier it was reported about the plans of Rostelecom and Avtodor to improve communication along the routes passing through the country. To do this, the companies plan to build new towers.
