A new patrol ship "Podolsk" has joined the coast guard of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia in St. Petersburg. It has become the ninth ship of Project 22120 "Purga", which the border guards received from the Almaz shipyard.
The dimensions of the ship are small: length - 71 meters, width - 10.4 meters. The speed is 21.3 knots, or 39.4 kilometers per hour in land terms. Also, "Podolsk" has a personal helicopter pad on board.
It can autonomously stay in ice for up to twenty days with 25-30 military personnel on board. If necessary, the crew will repel border violators with a 30-mm six-barreled artillery installation AK-630 and other weapons.
