The Russian Cabinet supported a bill that provides for tightening the responsibility for drivers of electric scooters and other personal mobility devices (PMD), including monowheels, gyroscooters, and skateboards.
The document for the government's conclusion was sent by Senator Artem Sheikin. The bill provides for a fine of up to 30,000 rubles for driving an electric scooter while intoxicated. In addition, Russians face a penalty in the form of a fine of 800 rubles to 5,000 rubles for exceeding the speed limit set for PMD.
Sheikin proposes to establish a fine of 2,000 rubles for riding an electric scooter together. If the owner of the PMD leaves the scene of an accident, he will have to pay 5,000 rubles.
