Точная и безопасная посадка: Ту-214 получат новые радиомагнитные индикаторы

Rostec announced that it will make Tu-214 aircraft safer for passengers

The "Radioelectronic Technologies" concern, part of Rostec, has started producing radio magnetic indicators (RMI-3) for Tu-214 aircraft. The new equipment will help to land the passenger aircraft more accurately and safely, the state corporation's press service reported.

It is noted that the first three devices, which are produced at the Ramensky Instrument-Making Plant (RPZ), will be delivered to the customer before the end of 2023. Another 12 RMI-3s will be sent in 2024.

The indicators help the pilot determine the position of the aircraft relative to radio beacons. RMI-3 can be used as backup equipment. In addition to the production of indicators, RPZ specialists will also be engaged in their warranty service.

According to the managing director of the plant, Alexey Drozdov, this is a priority area for the enterprise against the background of a sharp increase in demand for equipment, which arose as a result of a multiple increase in the production of Russian aircraft.

In Russia, MS-21 and SJ-100 are considered promising aircraft for civil aviation. Due to sanctions pressure from the West, Belarusian Belavia is interested in purchasing these aircraft. Now Russian developers are trying to maximize the localization of component production so as not to depend on foreign suppliers.
