The test flight of the Russian SJ-100 aircraft (localized version of the SSJ-100 New) with the PD-8 engine (created on the basis of the PD-14) of domestic design is scheduled for December 2023, said Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostec.
It is known that about 40 systems and units have been replaced with domestic counterparts in the SJ-100. The developers do not specify what kind of equipment is involved. The prototype aircraft made its first flight in August 2023. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation stated that the tests confirmed the stable operation of all systems developed by Russian engineers.
The narrow-body short-haul aircraft SJ-100 was created by specialists of JSC "Sukhoi Civil Aircraft" in cooperation with NPK "Irkut" (new name "Yakovlev"). Up to 108 passengers can be on board the aircraft. The aircraft is designed for passenger transportation over a distance of up to 4.6 thousand km.
