The test flight of the Russian airplane SJ-100 (localized version of SSJ-100 New) with PD-8 engine (based on PD-14) of domestic development is scheduled for December 2023, announced Rostec's head Sergey Chemezov.
It is known that in SJ-100 approximately 40 systems and units are replaced by domestic ones. The developers do not specify which equipment is being meant. The prototype of the airplane completed its maiden flight in August 2023. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation stated that the tests confirmed the stability of all systems developed by Russian engineers.
The narrow-bodied short-haul airplane SJ-100 was created by specialists of JSC 'Sukhoi Civil Aircraft' in collaboration with 'Irkut' (new name 'Yakovlev'). The aircraft can accommodate up to 108 passengers. The aircraft is designed for carrying passengers up to 4.6 thousand km.
Www1.ru wrote about the renaming SSJ-100 to SJ-100 at the end of July. In Rostec they clarified that the domestic aviation is now trying to move away from foreign components due to sanctions.
