Глава Роскосмоса заявил, что «Луна-25» разрабатывалась «недопустимо долго»

Borisov stated that projects similar to "Luna-25" should be developed in 5-7 years

The "Luna-25" mission was prepared for too long, which was due to irregular funding. This was stated by the head of the Roscosmos State Corporation, Yuri Borisov.

According to him, projects of similar scale should be developed in 5-7 years. Borisov considers such terms more foreseeable, and they should not be delayed.

The head of Roscosmos noted that more than one generation of developers worked on "Luna-25." Despite the failure of "Luna-25," the Russian authorities promised to continue funding the lunar program.

The next Russian lunar mission began on August 11, 2023. The "Luna-25" spacecraft was launched to the Earth's natural satellite from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. Before approaching the Moon, it managed to capture its surface. Then communication with the spacecraft was lost, after which the spacecraft collided with the celestial body.

A special commission investigated the incident. According to the results of its work, it became known that the accelerometer unit in the BIUS-L device was to blame for the accident, due to which the onboard control system stopped working normally.
