Российские ученые создали робота-окуня, который может самостоятельно ориентироваться под водой

The fish-like body and the presence of a caudal fin allow it to be well disguised as a fish

Scientists from Samara University have created an underwater drone in the form of a perch: the length of the fish-like streamlined "body" is 85 cm, and it moves with the help of a caudal fin.

The drone can navigate underwater independently due to a technical vision system and AI. The robot can bypass obstacles and detect pre-set objects on its own. The robot has already been successfully tested in the pool, and tests in "open water" are next: the robo-perch supports immersion to a depth of up to 5 meters.

The areas of application of the drone are very diverse. For example, it can be used for environmental monitoring, for the protection of certain areas of the sea, or, for example, during search and rescue operations.
