Rostec Increased Capacity and Produced Over 600 Gas Turbine Units by December 2025

Газотурбинные энергоустановки корпорации вырабатывают 48 млрд кВт·ч в год — столько же, сколько потребляют три крупнейшие области страны

On the eve of Energy Day, the United Engine Corporation (UEC), part of Rostec, summarized its activities in the energy sector. According to the corporation, as of December 2025, it has already produced more than 600 gas turbine power plants, with a total capacity exceeding 6 gigawatts. These plants generate over 48 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually — a volume comparable to the annual consumption of large regions such as Moscow, Sverdlovsk, or Chelyabinsk regions.

For a large-scale comparison: the installed capacity of the power equipment produced by UEC is twice the capacity of the famous hydroelectric power station at Niagara Falls. Thus, technologies originally developed for the aviation industry are now successfully used to ensure Russia's energy security.

Representatives of the corporation noted that each power plant is the result of the colossal work of thousands of engineers, designers, and production specialists at UEC enterprises. These solutions are the basis for stable power supply to both residential buildings and strategically important industrial facilities — from the Arctic to the southern borders of the country.

A distinctive feature of UEC's energy solutions lies in their origin. Gas turbine units are created on the basis of aircraft engines adapted for stationary use. This approach made it possible to transfer technologies tested in extreme aviation conditions to civil energy: high reliability, compactness, quick start-up, and the ability to operate on various types of fuel — from natural gas to associated petroleum gas. This is especially valuable for remote and autonomous regions, where a stable energy supply directly affects the quality of life and economic sustainability.
