The start of serial production of the long-range Il-96-400M aircraft will open new horizons for Russian civil aviation in transport and passenger transportation. Producing new equipment for civil aviation is a crucial task for the transport industry.
This includes not only the latest aircraft engineering developments, but also the establishment of production of already flying aircraft. The postponement of the commissioning of the new SJ-100 and MS-21 aircraft only further emphasized the importance of increasing the production of aircraft such as the Il-96 and Tu-214.
The latest projects do not need to undergo certification, which means they only depend on production. In this regard, the Il-96 aircraft is the only one that has maintained the planned production rates of aircraft in the domestic civil aviation industry.
The deadlines are encouraging
The fuselage went through all stages of slipway assembly in 3 months, which is the shortest assembly cycle in recent years. Now this 18-ton unit has been sent to the final assembly shop.
According to the Comprehensive Program for the Development of the Aviation Industry in Russia until 2030, the first deliveries of the Il-96-400M are scheduled for 2025 in the amount of two aircraft. Further production is planned annually at 2 aircraft, which corresponds to the planned rates.
Who are the customers
The number of passengers carried in the Il-96-400M has increased to 370 people, for this the fuselage was lengthened by 9.65 m. Unlike the Il-96-300, the airliner has an operational ceiling of up to 13,100 m, which reduces fuel consumption when flying long distances. At the same time, the range of the new machine, depending on the take-off weight, can reach 10,000 - 13,000 km.
The Russian Ministry of Defense may also become a customer of the Il-96-400M, since the characteristics of the machine provide the possibility of using it as a tanker or an airborne command post, replacing aircraft such as the Il-86VKP.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Ilyushin announced the official characteristics of the serial Il-114-300.
