From Energy to MC-21: Russian Equipment Production Reaches Almost 1 Trillion Rubles

At a strategic government session, Mikhail Mishustin spoke about the results of state support for industry

The volume of equipment production for the fuel and energy complex (FEC) in Russia has approached 1 trillion rubles. At the same time, state support helps develop domestic machine tool building: among the already applied developments are equipment for processing the composite wing of the MC-21 passenger aircraft. This was announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a strategic government session.

The scale of industrial production was one of the results of implementing the 'New Nuclear and Energy Technologies' direction.

Separately, the government supports means of production and automation: assistance was received by about 130 projects, mainly related to the development of machine tools and robotic systems for promising industries, including aircraft manufacturing.

Thanks to this, proprietary installations for applying thermal protective coatings to turbofan engine blades are already being used, as well as a complex for five-axis processing of the composite wing panel for our flagship liner MC-21.

Five-axis processing allows the tool to work with a part in several directions, which is important for manufacturing complex elements of aviation structures.
