Compared to January–August 2025, the average price of a new car increased by 8.2%. The difference from the 2022 figure was about 1.05 million rubles. Autostat also provided previous dynamics: 2.96 million rubles in 2023, 3.12 million in 2024, and 3.29 million in 2025.

The used car market is growing slower: over eight months of 2026, their weighted average price increased by 4%, reaching 1.19 million rubles. For comparison: in 2022, a used car cost an average of 890 thousand rubles, in 2023 — 1.04 million, in 2024 — 1.18 million (+13%), and in 2025 — 1.2 million (+1.9%). In other words, the "secondary market" has barely moved in the last year.

It is important not to confuse this figure with last year's record: 3.43 million rubles was the weighted average price of a new car at the end of October 2025 — at that time, it was the highest ever recorded. In the current presentation, the same value represents the average for eight months of 2026.

The market remains expensive even in global comparison: back in February, Autostat calculated that the average price of a new car in Russia exceeded 45 thousand dollars — placing it fifth in the world after Canada, the UK, the USA, and Israel.

According to forecasts, nothing will get cheaper. The price increase in 2026 is associated with the weakening ruble and the September revision of price lists, as well as with the increase in VAT and recycling fee rates from the beginning of the year. According to Sergey Tselikov, CEO of Autostat, the average price by the end of the year could be 3.55–3.65 million rubles, and by December — rise to 3.7–3.8 million.
