For the Il-114-300, obtaining a type certificate was an important stage of the program, but for the start of regular operation of specific aircraft, their admission to operation is required, and for expanding the fleet, a sustainable system for supplying components is needed. Honored Pilot of the USSR Oleg Smirnov called this issue critical for the program in a conversation with "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
According to him, the aviation industry must create the necessary production base in advance so that after the fleet expands, aircraft do not stand idle due to a missing part.
We now need to focus on ensuring that the Il-114, which has received a certificate, begins regular flights. And for this, it is necessary to organize the production of components for this aircraft.
According to him, this very scenario has already caused serious damage to Superjet operations. Similar problems have already led to Superjet aircraft standing idle due to waiting for components. According to Smirnov, for the Il-114-300, such a situation must be prevented before the fleet expands.
Recall that "Pervy Tekhnichesky" made direct comparisons of Il-114-300 with the Canadian Dash 8-400 and the Franco-Italian ATR 72. In the first case, the domestic airliner won in terms of takeoff and landing parameters, and in the second, it took its own due to wider operating conditions.
