United Aircraft Corporation (OAK) is reducing its staff. On September 24, the Central Interregional Labor Inspectorate issued a warning to the corporation after receiving information about a probable violation of employees' labor rights.
The inspection reminded OAK of the requirements of Article 180 of the Labor Code. When reducing staff, the employer is obliged to offer employees available vacant work that they can perform taking into account legal requirements, including their health status.
In the event of a threat of mass layoffs, the company must also take into account the opinion of the trade union and take measures provided for by law.
The Prosecutor General's register does not specify how many employees will be affected by the reduction and which divisions of the corporation are subject to it. The warning itself indicates a risk of violation of mandatory requirements identified by the inspection, but it is not confirmation that a violation has already been established based on the results of the inspection.
OAK was established in 2006. The corporation unites about 30 enterprises of the Russian aviation industry complex and is included in the list of strategic organizations.
