Serial production of MC-21-310 aircraft will be only the first part of a large task for the aviation industry. After the aircraft are delivered, the industry will have to provide them with spare parts and components so that the aircraft do not stand idle for repairs due to a lack of parts, Oleg Smirnov, Honored Pilot of the USSR, told “Pervy Tekhnichesky”.
He recalled that Superjet, equipped with SaM146 engines, faced exactly these problems.
Superjet burned out on this. They released the aircraft, gave it to a couple of other countries. They did not provide the market with the delivery of spare parts and mechanisms for it.
Smirnov emphasized that for the MC-21, the issue is especially important when expanding the fleet. The more airliners simultaneously enter regular flights, the more warehouse stocks, repair facilities, and well-established logistics for components will be required.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov explained to “Pervy Tekhnichesky” that the problems of the first Superjet were partly related to foreign components.
